Happy Birthday Dad!

My dad will be celebrating his 70th birthday on Monday! He is the most generous person I know. I am lucky (well some days HA!), that I get to see him every day at work!!!! He was diagnosed with esophagus cancer last may. His attitude has been amazing!! He has had chemo, radiation, and cyber knife treatments. He hardly ever complains...well my mom might say something different!

freebie

Monogram Chick is having a give-away! When you enter make sure you tell her you saw it on my blog....then I get a free bag also!!! Monogram Chick

clowns, candy, and smiles

The kids were in a parade today!! My Jr. High School teacher ( my favorite teacher in the whole world!) asked the kids if they would pass out candy for she and her husband. Her husband is a City Councilman for the city of Des Moines. They were thrillled!!

We needed two more helpers so my niece Callie, and nephew Jack came with us. Olivia hung out with my sister and I in the sidelines!

Here is Sophie and Tom.....did I mention she was my favorite teacher in the whole wide world!!!

This is the end of the parade......they had just enough candy!!! What a fun day and a great memory to have!! We hope they ask us again next year!

horses...carrots, and apples

I like to bring treats for the horses.......we usually take carrots, so this time I thought I would bring apples. I asked my friend Holly .....do horse like apples......and do I need to slice them up!! I was afraid they would choke! Can you tell I am a city girl!!!!! They loved the apples, and they are all fine! This is what Grant, and I did while the girls took riding lessons.

riding lessons.....

Isabelle with Taffy

Caroline with Lynx

The girls are taking horse riding lessons from my friends Steve, and Holly. They live on a ranch called Weisacres about 20 miles from us. Holly and Steve are teaching them how to take care of the horses, and how to ride. They are really doing well after only two lessons.

My dad started his Cyber Knife treatments today. Please continue to pray that the cancer is gone!!!! It is amazing how powerful this machine is!

This is the computer screen the radiation therapist watch from another room.

My good friend Helen. She is one of my "triplet" friends. She works at Mercy Hospital as a Radiation Therapist. She has no idea how much she has helped my dad, and my family! Thanks Helen!!!
