crazy day friday!

I have NEVER shopped the day after Thanksgiving.....well...this year there were two things that I had to have for the kids!!!! My dad didn't want me to go by myself.....I guess you always worry about your kids no matter how old they are........he picked me up at 4:45....my dad and I have NO PATIENCE at all, I think the rest of my family feared we would get kicked out of the stores......he dropped me off at Walmart......got what I needed....that was quick.....met my dad at Sam's club....he didn't get what my sister needed......drove over to Target.....all these people are waiting in line....it is cold.. the store doesn't open for another 30 minutes.......we drank coffee and talked........the doors opened, I ran in.......what I wanted was GONE, GONE, GONE...........now I know why they were all standing in line...but for Star Wars Legos.......I have never in my life seen so many crazy people throwing things in their carts.........can't wait for next year!!!!

met some new friends......

I met one of my "blogging" friends!! She brought her store Monogram Chick and her family to the Jr. Leaque Holiday Gift Mart in Des Moines. It was so fun to see all her goodies!! I ordered some fun things for Christmas! She was delightful, and so was her family. I could have hung out with them all day!!!

Party for a Cause

My sister sells Silpada Jewelry....last year we had a party and raised over $1500.00 WAHOO!! When my dad was diagnosed with cancer last May he would visit with people and hear their heartache that they could not pay for their prescriptions, gas money, food, bills, etcs. My dad thought it would be nice as a family to start a "fund" to help families affected with cancer. We raised over $6000.00 last year with the help of family and friends. The families don't know who we are, and we don't know who they are. My dads radiologist/oncologist is the "giver" to these families. We are so blessed with such awesome family and friends!!!

Grant was a St. Louis Cardinals baseball player, Caroline was a "pink girl", and Isabelle was Hilary Clinton!! I told my mom it was the cheapest mask they had, and the only won they had!

They had a ton of fun, and I am sure they will continue to go even when they come home from college!!!

Caroline and Isabelle are both playing instruments this year. They had their first band concert this week.....we were all amazed at how well they did!!!!
